The Wisconsin-based company, founded in 2015, is dedicated to providing surgeons with high-quality images in well-lit surgical environments for both veterinary and human medicine. OnLume's innovative imaging technology allows for low fluorescent agent concentrations, improving visualization of critical anatomy in real-time during surgery. Prototypes are currently being tested at partner institutions, the Laboratory for Optical and Computational Imaging (LOCI) at the University of Wisconsin and the Morgridge Institute for Research. While the systems have not yet been cleared for market by the FDA, OnLume's technology has the potential to advance surgical precision, optimize patient outcomes, and reduce morbidity and costs.
