The Technology Fund is a climate policy instrument of the Swiss federal government that provides secured and unsecured loans to Swiss start-ups and SMEs whose products promote climate protection by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy sources, and conserving natural resources. The fund is managed by Emerald Technology Ventures and South Pole Group, and guarantees of up to CHF 3 million are issued to banks and other lenders, covering up to 100% of the loan. Applications are reviewed based on technological suitability and financial capacity, and approved by a guarantee committee. The fund's favorable loan terms will enable companies to bring their pre-tested technology to the market or expand their customer base after market introduction.
