Rester, a Finnish recycling company with expertise in industrial-scale recycling solutions, is addressing the issue of textile waste in Finland. The country generates around 100 million kg of textile waste annually, with 80% being incinerated. Rester aims to establish a circular economy facility in Paimio, focusing on producing new raw material from used textiles. With a capacity of 6,000 tonnes per year, this high-tech facility is set to be completed in Q1/2021. The project will contribute to a new circular and sustainable economy service model for processing companies in the Nordic region, aligning with the upcoming EU directive on waste management.
