Rann Smorodinsky

Rann Smorodinsky co-founded Cash-U Mobile Technologies in January 2000 (now Unipier Ltd). Together with Amir Peleg, Cash-U’s other co-founder, Rann led the company through its seed and first round of investments; product design and launch; and to securing its initial customer base (Wind and Vodafone in Italy and Telefonica in Spain). In 2001, along with industry colleagues from the EU and USA, Rann founded the Mobile Entertainment Forum (www.m-e-f.org), leading it as chairperson through its inception and growth. Today MEF, with over 100 members, is globally recognized as the trade association of the mobile entertainment industry. Rann is currently an associate professor at the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) and leads research projects in the field of Game Theory. Prior to his Technion appointment, Rann was a Professor in the faculty of Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Rann holds a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.

Amir Peleg, EX-CEO and co-founder of YaData, is a serial entrepreneur having founded YaData Ltd in summer 2006, Unipier (Cash-U Mobile Technologies Ltd.) in early 2000 and EVS in 1991. YaData developed a novel technology for behavioral targeting, and was aquired by Microsoft in early 2008, 18 months after its foundation with total headcount of 18 people. In his previous venture, Unipier, Amir led three rounds of financing (totaling $24M) from top tier VCs and led the company strategy, organization, and sales to annual revenues of $5M. Prior to Unipier, Amir was one of the founders of EVS Ltd. (Elbit Vision Systems, a subsidiary of Elbit Ltd., NASDAQ: EVSNF), and played a key role in its management and sales & marketing activities in Europe and Japan. In 1996, Amir established and managed EVS-US, the US subsidiary of EVS. Amir holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (via the IDF TALPIOT program) and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. As a teenager, Amir won a special prize for young inventors from the Weizmann Institute, Israel.
