Quatt is a start-up focused on accelerating the transition to sustainable heating in the Netherlands and abroad. Their first product is a smart, hybrid heat pump that uses AI algorithms to calculate the optimal way to heat households with as little energy as possible. The heat pump does not require any additional changes to the home and the boiler stays active to produce domestic hot water and support the pump when it can't meet the heating demand. Quatt aims to greatly enhance the aesthetics of heat pumps, simplify the installation job, and improve the overall customer experience to increase adoption by an order of magnitude. They are developing a highly advanced control system based on several AI technologies, estimating that it can reduce heating costs by about 20%. By combining this with D2C sales & installation, Quatt is aiming to reach a payback time of 3-4 years and an installed base of 1 million heat pumps.
