Dr Sampson Hu is Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Smart Antenna Technologies. He is the inventor of a number of SAT patents and has been working on SAT core technology since 2009. As a SAT CTO, he is responsible for the successful execution of the company's business mission through development and the deployment of the company's technology. He directly helps the technology innovation across the company, leads technology implementation and development, guides and oversees the engineering staff and in the longer term, plans for risk and the required growth of the R & D team. He is also a Honorary Research Fellow of University of Birmingham. He has a BEng (Hons) in Communication Engineering with Business Management from the University of Birmingham, holds a MPhil in Antenna Design and Channels Characterisation for Body Centric Communication and a PhD in Antennas with Frequency Domain Control for Future Communication Systems. He has published over 30 learned papers and holds a number of patents. He received the best paper award in Second UK URSI Festival of Radio Science, 2011 and won the 1st runner up of IET best student paper prizes in LAPC 2011. He won the 2013 Enterprising Birmingham Innovation Competition, gained 1st place in product process based category.
