Charles Birnbaum

He currently represents BVP as a director and is actively involved at August Home, Betterment, BrightBytes, Main Street Hub, OMsignal, Quantopian, and Yodle. Before joining BVP, he spent more than three years at Foursquare, the location-based mobile application company in New York, helping create and bring to market some of Foursquare's first merchant-facing tools. As the company grew, he became the director of mobile and international business development. He focused on building strategic partnerships with carriers and OEMs while leading the company's business development efforts in key growth markets such as Brazil, Russia, and Turkey. Prior to Foursquare, he spent six years in investment banking and equity capital markets focusing on the technology, media, and telecom sectors and executed more than 50 equity and equity-linked public offerings. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, a Master of Arts in international studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northwestern University. He currently serves on the board of Zopa and Fabric and was involved in the exits of Yodle, 2U, and Kroll Bond Ratings. He also served as Board Member at United Capital Financial Partners.
