LIDAR specializes in planning, control, decision-making, optimization, and learning algorithms for robots that can maneuver in challenging and unpredictable environments. They aim to achieve robot autonomy, intelligent decision-making, and robust motion planning. Their long-term goal is to enable collaborative humanoid and mobile robots, as well as human assistive devices, to work alongside humans in unstructured environments. The lab's research areas include agile locomotion, robust manipulation, heterogeneous robot teaming, lower-limb exoskeletons, and mobile platforms for extreme environment maneuvering.
