Description

The VLR system is a novel solution for the treatment of mitral valve leakage, which is based on the gold standard open-heart surgical principle known as the posterior leaflet repair. The VLR implant restores the native valve coaptation, stops the leakage, and maintains the valve's dimensions, preventing future valve dilation and MR recurrence. The solution is highly stable, suitable for 95% of MR patients, and performed with a fully beating heart, minimizing trauma to the native valve. The VLR system is delivered in a transseptal approach, positioning and attaching a unique flexible implant on top of the damaged leaflet while leaving the healthy leaflet to continue to provide effective valve functions. The solution combines Mitral Leaflet Repair and Annuloplasty Effect in One Procedure.
