Based in Billerica, Massachusetts, Magellan Diagnostics has been a pioneer in blood lead analysis since the late 1960s. They developed a bench top analyzer using a technique called Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (ASV), and later adapted this technology to create smaller, portable instruments for point-of-care lead testing. Their LeadCare® platform offers FDA-cleared systems for blood lead testing, ranging from pediatricians' offices to diagnostic laboratories. In 2016, Magellan Diagnostics was acquired by Meridian Bioscience and continues to provide innovative products for lead poisoning screening, as well as microbiology products for blood culture and susceptibility testing.
