Founded in 2019, Pasqal is a spin-off from Institut d'Optique and is based in Palaiseau, France. The company develops quantum information processors for scientific discovery and problem-solving in fields such as optimization, drug discovery, and machine learning. Pasqal's quantum processors, which use neutral atoms manipulated by lasers, have already solved computational calculations that are beyond the capabilities of classical computers. The company has partnerships with high-performance computing communities and collaborates with utility companies and financial institutions. In January 2022, Pasqal merged with Qu&Co, a developer of quantum algorithms and software, to accelerate progress in quantum computing. The merged company aims to deliver a 1000-qubit quantum solution by 2023 and offers quantum solutions in various industries. Pasqal has received funding from investors such as Quantonation, Bpifrance, and the Defense Innovation Fund.
