The foundation focuses on supporting causes related to children, education, and sports. It provides funding to various charitable organizations, including Our Kids First Foundation, which raises awareness about childhood issues like ADHD. Steel Partners Foundation also supports initiatives to raise awareness of parental alienation and has hosted events and collaborated with Stand Up For Gus, an organization founded by actor Jason Patric. Additionally, the foundation has contributed to the development of a Chabad Jewish Community Center in Aspen Valley, funded the Aspen Art Museum's new building, participated in the rebuilding of Tulane University after Hurricane Katrina, and donated to the University of Pennsylvania School of Arts & Sciences for student scholarships. It has also provided grants to the Positive Coaching Alliance and contributed to the capital campaign for a new classroom building at Chadwick School.
