The museum, founded in 1932, houses various departments including Israeli Art, Modern and Contemporary Art, Prints and Drawings, Photography, Architecture and Design, and Old Masters. It offers a wide range of programs and activities for all age groups. The museum has grown significantly over the years and is currently located in three main buildings, including the innovative Herta and Paul Amir Building. It also features sculpture gardens and an art education center.
