Description

Founded in 2019 by CEO Randall Volberg, Type One Energy applies innovations in additive manufacturing, analytical theory, and high field magnets to drive the commercialization of stellarator fusion. The company's power systems are optimized for global adoption and utilize high-temperature superconducting magnets and additive manufacturing techniques. By producing magnetic field configurations that control losses from neoclassical and turbulent transport, Type One Energy aims to provide an efficient and sustainable energy solution. Based in Middleton, Wisconsin, the company is a spinout from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and benefits from the expertise of its founder, who is also a co-founder of the Fusion Industry Association.
