However, the company has faced allegations of embezzlement and fraudulent investment practices, including failing to properly analyze its investments and making irregular indefinite loans to private individuals. These allegations were brought forward by a former employee who claimed he was fired for refusing to file false reports. In an attempt to keep these allegations hidden, the company filed lawsuits in 2016. In 2019, Invercaria was charged with corruption and attempting to hide evidence during the previous investigation, leading to its involvement in a larger investigation by the Money Laundering group of the Spanish National Police.
