Sanjeev Kumar

Sanjeev’s passion for leveraging technology to solve business problems led him to form The Athene Group back in 2001. Over his extensive career in the IT business, he has witnessed the evolution from mainframe computers to client servers to the Internet age, and is excited that the Athene team can participate in the industry’s many ongoing advancements. Sanjeev has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University, India, although he never saw himself in that industry! He found the world of technology to be much more challenging and fun. He was a developer and programmer before turning his talents to starting and running a business that has enabled him to build extensive relationships with financial services firms of all sizes, within the U.S. and abroad. While working with clients and thinking about new solutions are Sanjeev’s top priorities, he also has many hobbies, including biking, hiking, and eating great food—all which he enjoys with his wife and son. He also participates in fundraising bike rides each year, and sponsors education for several children who would not have the funds to go to school otherwise.
