ALSF was founded by Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who started with a lemonade stand in her front yard and raised $2,000 to support cancer research. Since then, ALSF has become a leading funder of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada, raising over $250 million and funding over 1,000 research projects. The foundation also offers programs to assist families affected by childhood cancer and organizes various fundraising activities.
