Founded in 2013 and based out of Austin, Texas, SeedSumo invests in companies operating in the wellness, health, and fitness sectors. The accelerator runs a three-month-long program near Texas A&M University, accepting only ten companies each year in exchange for $50,000 in seed funding and around 10% equity. Founders receive free hosting, branding services, finance/legal counseling, top-notch mentorship, and a massive network of connections. The program culminates in "Demo Day," where each startup shares their pitch in front of a large investor audience. SeedSumo is a member of the Global Accelerator Network and has helped its 2014 class of eight startups raise around $4 million since Demo Day in September.
