The device uses AI hardware to detect street signs, traffic lights, cars, and pedestrians, and combines sensor data to calculate driving profiles. It warns drivers in real-time about dangers on the road and measures distraction, drowsiness, tailgating, drifting, aggressiveness, and speeding to improve driving and increase safety. DriveTrust is part of an EIT/Digital European Innovation activity with goals for 2019 including legal start-up creation and the first product sale. The founders developed the idea during the EIT Digital Summer school in Stockholm in 2017 and have been working full time on product development. While not yet market-ready, the product has a prototype that includes all major functions.
