Brian Wiegand
Brian is a serial entrepreneur that loves to bring new business models to market, build passionate teams, and deliver value to end consumers. Brian has founded and sold four different companies in the online space, generating over $100 million of shareholder value in the process. At work, he loves to motivate and lead teams around a shared goal. He rarely sits at his desk. At home, he has a fantastic wife and two children. Brian was born in Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For over 15 years, he has used the Internet as a platform to start up and grow companies with new, disruptive value propositions. His first start-up was a company called BizFilings, which he co-founded in 1996. As the companies President and CEO, he grew Business Filings from a business concept into the Internet's leading Incorporation Services Company, without any outside capital investment. In 2002, he led and negotiated the private sale of the company to the global publishing company Wolters Kluwer. He co-founded his second start up, NameProtect.com, with Mark McGuire in 1997. A vertical search engine company, NameProtect provided trademark research and digital brand protection services to a diverse and global customer base. The company was purchased by Corporation Services Company in a private transaction that was finalized in April, 2007. Brian's third start-up, Jellyfish.com, was also co-founded with Mark McGuire in June 2006. The Jellyfish.com shopping search engine which introduced a new form of online advertising into the search market was sold to Microsoft Corporation in October, 2007 to serve as the framework for Microsoft Bing Shopping. After the sale, he stayed on at Microsoft as General Manager of Social Commerce, but he couldn't resist the call of the start-up world once again decided to start another company - Alice.com. And most recently started Hopster.com in 2012 which in 2014 sold to Inmar Brian also sits on the board of a NASDAQ traded software company - Sonic Foundry. (SOFO) He is also working on Hopster.com and Termsync.com which are two of his latest internet startup projects
