The group is member-led and comprised of experienced young professionals who invest between $100k and $250k in Seed, Seed+, and Series A rounds. They seek to invest in companies operating in the education, financial services, media, e-commerce, entertainment, mobile, and information technology industries. Empire Angels provides a democratic framework with highly filtered deal flow and member training, hosting monthly pitch sessions to screen start-ups before pursuing due diligence and active negotiations. The group is collaborative and open source, and while members collaborate on due diligence, they make individual investment decisions. Empire Angels has the youngest membership of any angel group in the country and is the only organization focused on training the Millennial generation of angel investors.
