Philipp Breuss-Schneeweis
Philipp Breuss-Schneeweis studied computer science and history at the University of Salzburg and the Bowling Green State University, Ohio. After working for various companies including KPMG Consulting and Sony DADC, he founded Wikitude GmbH (previously known as Mobilizy GmbH), a software startup specialising in Augmented Reality software for smartphones. The flagship product of Wikitude was the "Wikitude World Browser" which became the first "Augmented Reality browser for geospatial content on a mobil device", preinstalled on G1 smartphones by T-Mobile. One of the initial successes of Wikitude has been the Top 50 award at the Google Android Developer Challenge and being named as "Top 10 mobile Applications to watch in 2009" in the Razorfish Digital Outlook Report 2009, AR apps for the Wimbledon, US, and Australian Tennis tournaments. Since the early days of Wikitude, Philipp Breuss-Schneeweis has won multiple awards, including the People's Choice Award, Augmented Planet 2009-2012, World Summit Award 2010, Galileo Master 2010 at European Satellite Navigation Competition, and the Global Champion at Navteq Challenge 2010. Philipp Breuss-Schneeweis was the CEO of Wikitude until October 2010, when Wikitude received its investment A-round. After that, Philipp was on the supervisory board of Wikitude. In August 2021, Wikitude was acquired by Qualcomm Inc.
