OMERS Ventures, the venture capital arm of OMERS, the pension plan for Ontario's municipal employees, was launched in 2011. They invest in high-growth, disruptive tech companies at the Series A-C stage and operate in Canada, Europe, and the United States. Their goal is to help founders succeed and generate returns that benefit the pensions of over half a million municipal workers, such as paramedics, librarians, and firefighters. They are open to hearing about great ideas, providing resources for their portfolio companies, and connecting entrepreneurs with the right people for the job.
