Steve Carver

Steve Carver

Steve daylights as PitchBook Data’s Senior Director of Business Development. He works with bulge bracket banks, business intermediaries, and private equity firms helping them access and analyze data around private company transactions and fundraising to more efficiently and effectively execute their strategies. Prior to PitchBook he lived in Tokyo, Japan where he worked as a consultant to Hello Global. There he helped to identify and build relationships with Western companies trying to access the Japanese consumer market. He worked closely with regional economic development organizations, chambers of commerce and the US Department of Commerce. Steve moved into the consulting world in 2008 when he joined Seattle-based Baldwin Resource Group. He specialized in helping Private Equity firms analyze the risk involved in the acquisition of portfolio companies. These sales required managing long cycles heavily dependent on relationships with C-level and board representatives. Prior to Baldwin, he developed his sales acumen at Brown & Brown, the 6th largest insurance brokerage in the US. After joining in 2003, Steve became an immediate standout in his office, becoming the highest grossing producer his first year in the industry. He was honored to be included in Brown & Brown’s Advanced Producer Development Consortium, a round table of the top 25 producers in the country. Before Brown & Brown, Steve learned the techniques of client focused sales with Xerox. As a sales agent, he had access to the renowned Xerox sales development program where he learned their structured, strategic, value based sales method. Steve earned his BFA in acting and film from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is an avid photographer, a SCUBA Divemaster, and travel addict. He thrives in the outdoors: be it backpacking, snowboarding, or trying to surf. Steve is continually fueled by his first passion, the arts, and continues to participate in them as an associate board member for the ArtsFund, and as an improvisational comedian in his daily life — even if no longer on stage.
