Jiseong Jeong
Jiseong Jeong is the co-founder and CEO of SOS Lab. He received his masters degree in mechatronics from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), and is a PhD candidate in the same field, specializing in optical sensors and scanning architecture. In 2016, while pursuing his PhD, Jiseong noticed the limitations of the available, leading LiDAR technology, and saw the perfect opportunity to combine his technological background with his passion for business and found SOS Lab to become a global competitor in the emerging LiDAR market. Just two years later, his company has already achieved notable success and distinction, winning Best New Product at KES 2017 and the Grand Prize at KSME-SEMES 2017, and presenting their products and designs at major tech conferences across the world. Jiseong and his team are currently working towards new breakthroughs in hybrid-LiDAR technology, with the goal of improving efficiency of LiDAR scanners while meeting the demands of the market.
