Description
City Startup Labs aims to create a new class of entrepreneurs by providing targeted education, clear pathways to success, and support for African American millennials. Initially focused on young black men, the company recognized the need to include young women and ensure that no innovation is left behind. They view teaching entrepreneurship as a crucial vocational training for the 21st century, addressing the under-employment issue. Collaborating with the Urban League of Central Carolinas during its pilot phase, City Startup Labs is now establishing a Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Innovation at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Additionally, they plan to launch a pilot program for returning citizens in 2018.
