This nonpartisan organization, funded by Congress, foundations, and corporations, conducts comprehensive studies to improve the US national security system. Led by a 22-member Guiding Coalition, the organization has issued a report with recommendations for a more agile system. Over 300 experts contributed to the report, which has been delivered to President Barack Obama, Congress, and the Department of Defense. Pending approval, the organization is prepared to support the implementation of reforms through various means, including drafting presidential directives and a new National Security Act.
