Oliver Kolbe
Before co-founding smac partners GmbH in 2006, Oliver served as CFO at Siemens Acceleration in Communications. In 2000 he worked for Siemens Mobile as Vice President Strategy and Marketing BA, responsible for the enormous sponsoring and marketing budget of the wireless handset division. Prior to that, he worked at VP level at Siemens in different functions along the various value-added chains of the telecommunications industry, building up new business fields and branches in various geographies. With his deep insight into complex corporate structures, as well as value-added chains in the telecommunications industry, Oliver acquired hands-on experience in building up new business and dealing with challenging sales and marketing tasks worldwide. As such, he was accountable for a business volume of over € 300 million and a workforce in excess of 100. Oliver Kolbe holds a masters degree in business administration and finance from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany.

Dietrich Ulmer
Prior to Siemens, Dietrich was Chief Strategist at O2 Germany, where he served as Director of Strategic Projects - Corporate Strategy. He was responsible for numerous fixed network, Internet and mobile radio (M&A) projects with a volume of triple-digit million US$. In addition, he had project responsibility for acquiring the $US 10 bn UMTS license. During his time with O2 the company grew from 500 employees to 5,000. Previous to that, Dietrich managed the 'Business Development' and 'Balance Sheets and Controlling' sectors at debis Telecommunications and Media of debis AG. From 1985 to 1996 he worked for Mercedes Benz AG in Berlin and Stuttgart, where he led strategic projects in the Automobile Sector Department and was responsible for major international projects. Dietrich Ulmer gained his doctorate in sociology at Konstanz University. He holds degrees in mechanical engineering and economics from the Technical University (RWTH) of Aachen.

Ingo Potthof
Prior to co-founding smac partners, Ingo was investment partner within Siemens Acceleration in Communications from its inception in 2001. He led numerous first and follow-on investments, mainly in Europe and Israel, and in particular was responsible for all investment activities in Israel. His exits include GoNetworks (acquired by Nextwave Inc.), scaraboo (acquired by BGT AG) and Ki-Bi Technologies (LSE: KIB). Earlier Ingo worked with the telecom operator O2 in Munich. He was involved in overall strategy development and strategic business planning. As project manager he developed the UMTS auction strategy. As head of Mergers & Acquisitions he took corporate wide responsibility for all equity investments. His project experience spans investments in a variety of segments, including city carriers, cable carriers and Internet start-ups. Previous to that, Ingo was a management consultant for various international companies such as RWE, IBM, SAP and institutions such as the World Bank in the areas of IT, finance and strategy. During this period he was also a lecturer and researcher at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he gained his doctorate in the analysis and assessment of investment decisions in the IT sector. Ingo received a degree in computer science and business administration from the University of Mannheim.
