The Norwegian company, TioTech, has developed TitanBTM, a TiO2-based material that enables batteries to be charged in under 6 minutes, improves their lifetime, removes safety concerns, and can be charged in arctic conditions. Their technology uses proprietary methods to process titania nanoparticles, optimising the production process and properties of titania nanoparticles. TioTech's anode-material in Lithium-ion batteries (LIB) charges faster, lasts longer, is safer, and tolerates temperature variations better than conventional batteries with graphite on the anode, and outcompetes LTO-batteries on capacity. The company's development work takes place in their in-house laboratory in Bergen, where their dedicated team experiments with titania to create innovative solutions, enabling the green shift to happen in new markets.
