Description

The company has developed the ProtEmbo System, an intra-aortic filter device that deflects embolic material away from the cerebral circulation during TAVR. The device has been shown to decrease the risk of brain injury by up to 90% in a first-in-human study. Protembis has closed a $10M Series A financing round and plans to conduct further clinical studies in Europe and the U.S. to bring the product to market maturity. The ProtEmbo® device is not yet commercially available, but it has the potential to enhance patients' quality of life and reduce overall healthcare costs associated with brain injury during surgical procedures.
