Founded in 2004 as a spin-off of Leiden University, ZoBio provides research services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. With a focus on enabling proteins for biophysical and structural biology studies, ZoBio uses biophysics to screen fragment libraries for selective ligands for a pharmaceutical target. The company also uses both X-ray crystallography and NMR to provide 3D structural information on complexes of ligands bound to a protein. Additionally, ZoBio's medicinal chemistry expertise advances fragment "hits" to bridge the gap between fragment and hit. ZoBio is self-funded and has customers that include 7 of the top 15 largest pharma and various mid-size pharmaceutical companies.
