Using advanced optical technology, SMi has developed a range of intelligent instruments, including a diagnostic platform that can target infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance. The device can process up to 1000 patient samples in less than 20 minutes, with a capacity of 72000 samples per day. Additionally, SMi has created a microscope that allows scientists to observe individual molecular interactions in real-time and determine key components of drug-receptor interactions. SMi’s devices provide irrefutable evidence for the presence of infectious agents and enable scientists to directly monitor the binding of drugs to their targets for the first time. Currently, SMi is developing its device to rapidly detect COVID-19 in patients within the first 24 hours of infection.
