Friedman served as a Director of CapitalSource Inc. from 2000 to May 3, 2007 and its Presiding Director. He served as a Director of The Clorox Company., Levi Strauss & Co. since 1985 and McKesson Corporation from 1992 to 2003. He served as the President at the San Francisco Opera Association.
