Vancouver-based Mangrove Lithium has created a modular refining platform that converts lithium chloride and sulfate from various sources directly into battery-grade lithium hydroxide. The platform operates between lithium extraction and cathode manufacturing, allowing for efficient processing of lithium from brines, hard rock, clay, geothermal DLE, and recycled batteries. The technology is scalable to any capacity and can be co-located with upstream lithium producers or cathode and cell manufacturers. Additionally, the platform is being commercialized for the conversion of waste brines into chemicals and desalinated water.
