Founded in 2017 by Parkinson's UK, the largest European charitable funder of Parkinson's research, Parkinson's Virtual Biotech is an international program in partnership with the Parkinson's Foundation. With a focus on collaboration rather than competition, the program has invested over £13 million to create a diverse pipeline of projects at various stages of drug discovery and development. Working with co-investors, institutions, and companies worldwide, Parkinson's Virtual Biotech aims to drive forward drug development and clinical trials to deliver new treatments for people with Parkinson's in a shorter timeframe.
