Founded in 1954, Nipro Corp develops medical devices related to dialysis and artificial organs, and operates in four segments: medical, pharmaceutical, glass, and other. The medical segment, which sells products related to renal treatment, diabetes, and generic drugs, contributes the majority of revenue, with renal products being the largest proportion of sales. The pharmaceutical segment manufactures oral drugs and injectables for supply to pharmaceutical companies in Japan, while the glass business sells glass products used for medical applications such as vials and syringes.
