Javier Gómez Navarro

Javier Gómez Navarro Navarrete served as Minister of Commerce and Tourism from 1993 to 1996. From 1983 to 1986, Mr. Gómez-Navarro served as Chief Executive Officer of Viajes Marsans, Spain’s leading travel agency. He has significant experience in politics and the tourism industry, and in 1978 founded FITUR, Madrid’s Tourism Fair. He has been Chairman of World Duty Free Group S.A. since April 21, 2005. He serves as Chairman of High Council of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation. Mr. Gómez-Navarro served as President of the Olympic Sports Associations and vice chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. From 1987 to 1993 he served as state secretary of sport. He has been a Director at Tecnicas Reunidas, S.A. since October 5, 2006. , Capio Spain, Insolux-Corsan, Quail Travel, MBD, and Expociencia. He served as Director at PRISA Televisión, S.A.U since April 17, 2001. He served as Executive Director at Altadis SA. He served as Independent Director at Autogrill S.p.A. from 2008 to April 20, 2011. He served as Board Member for the principal Spanish tour operators. Mr. Gómez-Navarro holds an engineering degree from the School of Industrial Engineering of Madrid.
