Description

Founded in 2000, Sectoral Asset Management is a corporate investor based in Montreal, Canada. They focus on investing in healthcare startups, typically participating in rounds with 6-7 other investors. While they are the leading representative office of their kind in Montreal, they also compete with other investors like HealthCap, Astellas Venture Management, and Ysios Capital. The fund has invested in popular startups such as F2G, BioVex, and HighLife. Sectoral Asset Management has no specific preference for the number of founders in portfolio startups, but they tend to invest in startups that are 6-10 years old. They primarily invest in the United States, despite being founded in Canada. The fund specializes in investing in the personal health and medical device industries. With approximately $4.0 billion in assets under management, Sectoral Asset Management actively strives to provide superior returns for their investors through primary research and maintaining high quality standards.
