Founded in 1980, Sol Cuisine produces a range of vegetarian and vegan food products that are non-GMO, gluten-free, and certified kosher and halal. They prioritize sustainability and source their ingredients from North American farms, with their soy products made from organically grown soybeans in Ontario. Sol Cuisine's SOLocal Protein project, launched in 2014 with support from the Greenbelt Fund and the government of Ontario, aims to increase the sale of Ontario organic tofu by building relationships with foodservice providers and public sector institutions. In November 2021, Sol Cuisine was acquired by PlantPlus Foods.
