Rob DeMillo is a Venture Partner at SparkLabs Global. Prior to SparkLabs, Rob was the CTO at Discovery Digital Networks, where he ran Engineering and R&D, represented the company to internet video partners, ad agencies, and generally setting the pace/direction of Discovery Digital Networks technology. DeMillo came to Discovery Digital Networks through the acquisition of Revision3 where he held the position of CTO. At Revision3, DeMillo oversaw the strategic direction of company technology, research and development, and product development. (Note: While CTO of Revision3, DeMillo also held the post of Chief Technology Advisor for 4INFO, a mobile ad technology company, where he set the strategic and engineering direction for the company.) Prior to Revision3, DeMillo was the Chief Technology Officer / co-Founder of Transpera, Inc. in San Francisco, California, where he was responsible for the technology and operational aspects of the company and serves as the technical liaison to mobile operators, video content providers and ad agencies globally. Prior to Transpera, DeMillo was the Chief Technical Officer for Third Screen Media, where he drove the research, specification, development and technical operations of the company’s MADX platform. DeMillo also served as Vice President of Mobile Technology at VeriSign, following the acquisition by Verisign of m-Qube where DeMillo was Senior Vice President of Engineering. DeMillo was also founder and CEO/CTO of MediaRush, an early market leader for media distribution within the home, and held technology leadership positions at ATG, a personalization and eCommerce leader, and SynaPix, a computer graphics and video effects company. Before he became a serial entrepreneur, DeMillo was a research scientist/engineer at Lincoln Laboratories, and Jet Propulsion Laboratories before that, applying technology to study and understand topics as diverse as planetary cratering and effects of microbursts on aircraft.
