Description

Founded in 2010 by former Apple engineers, Nest Labs develops programmable, self-learning thermostats and sensor-driven security systems. Their flagship product, the Nest Learning Thermostat, allows users to adjust their home's temperature remotely. In 2013, they introduced the Nest Protect, a smart smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Nest expanded their product line with the acquisition of Dropcam in 2014, launching the Nest Cam for home security. In 2014, Google acquired Nest Labs, and in 2018, Nest merged with Google's hardware division. They continue to innovate in the smart home space, with partnerships such as the integration of ADT security monitoring services into Nest devices.
