Description

The company was founded in 2004 and focuses on pre-seed to series A investments. They prefer to invest in startups that are in "boring" or "too small" markets, have atypical business models, or are simply a little different. HenQ's goal is to fund the odd ones out in European B2B and back the best founders.

Coen van Duiven

Coen van Duiven (1969) started his career at Unilever Investment Group, focussing on global capital and M&A projects. Part of this assignment was leading a start-up and expansion business in Russia. After having been Investment Director of a foods company in Madagascar, Africa, Coen returned to the Netherlands, as partner in a private equity firm. To be able to add even more (direct) value to the companies involved in, Coen decided to found henQ in 2004 with Herman, to experience along the way that working with young, ambitious & passionate entrepreneurs is really the most rewarding form of investing. Coen is also a mentor at Seedcamp.

Herman Hintzen (1966) started his first company Arpa Systems in 1996, which became the market leading software developer for the construction industry in the Netherlands. After selling his shares, Herman decided to focus on his passion: helping entrepreneurs making their dreams come true. So in 2004, together with Coen van Duiven, he founded the Great Idea Factory, an organization aimed at helping entrepreneurs bring their ideas to the market. In the same year, Herman and Coen founded henQ - Committed Capital, which focuses on the phase from company to market. Since 2010, Herman is a mentor at early-stage investment fund Seedcamp.
