Sean Dempsey
Sean is a co-founder of early stage venture firm Merus Capital in Palo Alto, CA. Before Merus, Sean was a Principal of Corporate Development at Google, responsible for acquisitions and investments including Android, YouTube, and Postini. Prior to Google, he spent over six years at Microsoft in the Corporate Development team. At Microsoft, he led over 40 acquisitions and investments including Bungie, the creator of the Xbox hit Halo. His areas of focus at Google and Microsoft included consumer web services, online and traditional advertising, online video, gaming and enterprise SaaS. Outside of Merus, Sean is an avid trail runner and is doing his small part in keeping the Bay Area trails alive and well through his involvement with the Peninsula Open Space Trust. He is also an Advisory Board Member of the Kravis Leadership Institute at Claremont McKenna College where he graduated with degrees in Economics/Environment/Politics and French.

Salman Ullah
Salman co-founded Merus Capital in November 2007. Previously he was Vice President of Corporate Development at Google, where he spent three years managing a worldwide team responsible for all of Google’s acquisitions and investments. Prior to Google, he spent over seven years at Microsoft in several roles including General Manager of Corporate Strategy and Managing Director of Corporate Development. Earlier in his career, he was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey in Chicago where he spent four years working in the technology and consumer goods sectors. He was also a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in physics at the University of Virginia and the University of Chicago. He holds an undergraduate degree in physics from the University of Oxford, and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Stanford University.

Peter co-founded Merus Capital in November 2007. Most recently, he was Managing Director of the Corporate Strategy Group at Microsoft, where he led a team in identifying and evaluating new growth opportunities for the company in areas that included online advertising/commerce, business software-as-a-service, and cloud platform services. Peter was also a member of Microsoft's Corporate Development team focused on online consumer services, digital media, and interactive entertainment, in the U.S., Greater China, and Japan. Prior to his eight years with Microsoft, Peter was an Associate in JP Morgan's investment banking group in Hong Kong and a management consultant with Price Waterhouse. Peter holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University.
