Products nobody really asked for: Tesla developed a limited edition beer ‘GigaBier’
Tesla has applied for a beer production license for the US market, yet now it sticks to the EU market
In the best traditions of the Cybertruck beer, Tesla, the EV carmarker, has launched its own limited edition beer called ‘GigaBier’. It will go for $30 per bottle and it is intended for the European market. The product comes in packs of three, amounting to a total of €89 ($97.06).
One of the product’s most notable features is its sleek, black digital-edg-aesthetic invoking packaging, which even features a large glow-in-the-dark watermark.
Conceptually, the shape of the unconventional bottle is meant to allude to the form of Cybertruck. Simultaneously, it aims to pay tribute to the 500-year tradition of German Reinheitsgebot beer making.
‘GigaBier’ and the English equivalent ‘Giga Beer’ were both trademarked after the products were first announced at the Giga Fest. Tesla has applied for a production license for the US market, however, it hasn’ received an approval yet, therefore it is still only available in the European market.
This is not Tesla’s first venture in the universe of alcoholic beverages. In 2020 Tesla launched its limited edition Tesla Tequila or ‘Teslaquila’ which was an exclusive, small-batch premium 100% de agave tequila añejo made from sustainably sourced highland and lowland agaves. The product sold out at record speed.
