Universal Music is opposing the use of AI-generated music that violates human rights
The biggest record label requested that Apple Music and Spotify take down music catalogues

Universal Music, one of the world’s largest record labels, has requested that Apple Music and Spotify remove music catalogues that employ artificial intelligence.
The company’s representatives argue that they must prevent the ‘unauthorised use of their music’. They have pointed out that many developers who use copyrighted content to train AI models fail to obtain the consent of musicians or pay them royalties.
Getty Images, a photo agency, previously prohibited the uploading and selling of images generated by AI. The company also sued Stability AI, the creator of a neural network that generates Stable Diffusion images.
Meanwhile, on the ArtStation platform, artists have launched a massive protest by flooding the service with the message ‘no to images created by artificial intelligence’.
