Swiss scientists have the ability to gauge stress and burnout levels by analysing keyboard and mouse usage

A study conducted by the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich revealed that the level of stress and burnout among employees can be determined by analysing their keyboard and mouse usage.

During the experiment, 90 participants were divided into two groups: one worked under normal conditions, while the other was given additional tasks and interruptions. The results showed that stressed participants had decreased cursor accuracy and increased distance to the target, as well as more typing errors and frequent short pauses.

However, the scientists emphasised that their development should only be used if employee data is protected. They want to help workers identify stress early, not create a monitoring tool for companies.
