“AI or Not” service will figure out whether an image was person-made or AI-made

Optic recently launched a tool that can accurately identify images produced by artificial intelligence

Optic has introduced an innovative “AI or Not” service that uses advanced technology to identify images created by artificial intelligence. The tool can detect “invisible artefacts,” including subtle changes in brightness and colour, which are often missed by the human eye.

Users can check the authenticity of an image by uploading it to the website, using the Telegram bot, or by “tweeting” the image with the hashtag #aiornot and mentioning optyc_xyz. Optic plans to develop a browser extension in the future to make the process even more user-friendly.

Previously, the AI or Not service accurately detected images created by the Midjourney neural network with a success rate of up to 95%. However, after Midjourney released an update, the accuracy rate dropped to 88.9%. Nevertheless, Optic is committed to continuous improvement and promises to enhance its tool further.

Optic is a startup that specialises in non-fungible token (NFT) copyright protection services. In addition to the “AI or Not” service, the company’s founder, Andrey Doronichev, has recently announced the launch of a “propagandometer” that will analyse media publications.
