Billionaire labeled remote work “bullshit,” but employees won’t share his opinion

Sam Zell, the entrepreneur, has encouraged employees to resume working from offices

Entrepreneur and billionaire Sam Zell has expressed his criticism of remote work, even going so far as to label it “bullshit.”

According to the founder of the investment firm Equity Group Investments, working outside the office is more challenging. Zell believes that remote workers are less likely to advance in their careers, partly because managers cannot observe their progress.

Furthermore, the billionaire has claimed that virtual meetings are ineffective compared to in-person ones. Zell stated that there is a huge difference between a Zoom board meeting and a face-to-face meeting, and that people need to be together to develop their skills.

Despite Zell’s opinion, many remote employees strongly disagree. A study conducted by the Pew Research Center found that 56% of respondents believed that working remotely helped them complete tasks efficiently and on time.
