Mantua, an Italian city, offers €150 per month to prospective residents
Another Italian region aims to attract new residents
Mantova, a city in Lombardy, Italy, will begin providing monthly payments of €150 to individuals willing to relocate there. The initiative aims to attract new residents and revitalise vacant houses that have been neglected by their owners, according to Mayor Mattia Palazzi.
The program has a budget of €400,000, with €200,000 allocated for September 2023 and another €200,000 planned for 2024. The local council intends to review 100 applications each year, and there is no specific requirement regarding minimum income.
The city authorities anticipate attracting professionals earning approximately €1200-1500 per month, while also creating new job opportunities in the region. Mayor Palazzi highlights the investments and production in Mantua, particularly in the logistics sector, which will contribute to job openings.
Previously, the authorities in Emilia-Romagna initiated a program offering incentives ranging from €10,000 to €30,000 for individuals interested in purchasing property in the region.
