Adobe introduces AI tools for image editing and manipulation

Adobe, the software developer, has introduced a new AI-based tool in Photoshop called Generative Fill. Powered by Firefly’s AI generator, it enables users to add objects to photos and paint the background.

According to Adobe, Generative Fill combines the speed and simplicity of generative AI with the power and precision of Photoshop, allowing customers to bring their ideas to life quickly and easily.

To ensure copyright compliance, Adobe states that the AI tools are trained on content that the company has the rights to use. However, Generative Fill will not be accessible to users under 18 or residents of China. Additionally, Adobe prohibits the commercial use of AI-generated images.

Currently undergoing testing, Generative Fill is expected to be available to the public in the second half of 2023. Adobe also plans to integrate Firefly into Illustrator and Premiere Pro in the future.

Previously, Adobe launched Enhance Speech, an AI tool designed to enhance the quality of audio recordings.
